Use the registration of the towing vehicle
An ordinary UK trailer must display the same registration as the vehicle towing it. A caravan also needs the towing vehicle registration visible at the rear. If a rear-mounted carrier obscures the vehicle plate, check the display and lighting requirements for that carrier before ordering.
Check the plate holder and dimensions
The standard trailer template is a single-line yellow rear plate with a 520 × 111 mm backing. Measure the holder or bracket and check the complete registration fits the layout. Choose from the finishes currently available for the trailer configuration; fixings are optional.
UK towing plates and separately registered trailers
Some trailers used internationally require separate trailer registration and additional plates. This builder supplies the configured towing-vehicle plate; do not assume it supplies a separately registered trailer plate or satisfies every overseas requirement.
