EV number plates keep the familiar white front and yellow rear backgrounds, with a green flash at the left. The green flash is for zero-emission vehicles. You are ordering physical plates for a registration already assigned to your vehicle, not a new registration number.
Who can use a green flash number plate?
GOV.UK permits a green flash on a zero-emission vehicle. A hybrid that also uses petrol or diesel is not a zero-emission vehicle. The builder asks you to confirm eligibility, and the final specification is checked before production.
The plate background remains white at the front and yellow at the rear. Black registration characters, required spacing and supplier and standard markings still apply. A green flash does not change those requirements.
